New Website
Hi, my loves! I'm still alive. :) Good thing, right? Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well! I'm sure the school year is starting to come to end for most (myself included...yay for graduation!!! Kinda. lol), and I'm sure ya'll are living the hectic life, like myself. Fun, isn't? But just think; it's almost over. Yay again!

Sorry. Forgive me. It's 5:30am here. I've no idea why I'm still up. Well, actually, I do. I've been hard at work on my new site, and guess what? It is all finally up and running. I'm super psyched right about now because that was a project and a half, and I'm exhausted.

Anyway, that's my/our new home. :) I'm still going to keep this LJ though. I'll post here when I update at the site with a new chapter. I may even post the chapters here and at the site for a little while and then switch over to just the site. We'll see how things go. Even I'm weary of change...no matter how small. lol

But I'm also keeping the LJ so you all can comment here if you wish. As new chapters of Places come, there will be a link at the bottom of each chapter to bring you back to LJ if you wish to comment here. Or there is a guestbook at the site for you to comment in as well, and I can reply at the guestbook. Which was something I was very happy about.

No new chapter of Places yet, but I'm sure that's no surprise to you. I suck; I'm sorry. The update over at the site talks a little bit about it.

Anyway, go check it out! Bookmark it. I hope you guys like it. :) Love and miss you all! And good luck with the end of the school year and all your projects and finals!

Dear, it looks great!!

Now I'm going to ask help to install word-press and run it, 'cause I'm having trouble with it and I really really want it to post in my webpage since I'm completely unable to learn css...

Thank you, love!

I would be more than willing to help you install wordpress, but the lovely lady who is hosting me, Becca, was the one to install it for me. So I really have no idea how to do that. lol Sorry, dear!

Hey!

I saved the new site to my favorites and let me tell you it's awesome! I can clearly see you put a lot of effort in it...
I like the header... Ike's smile! hahaha..

I didn't know you were a Psychology Student too! *high fives*

Hope you update soon! Or I'll have to re-read the whole story.
My memory is fragile...hahaha...

Thank you so much, dear! Your comment means a lot to me. I'm so glad you like it because yes, I did put a lot of effort into it. I was extremely ready to pull my hair out by the end. lol So I'm glad you like it and the header too! Because my photoshop skills are really lacking, so I was glad I was able to make a decent header and one that I actually like. :)

Yeah, fellow psych student!!

ha, don't worry. I have to re-read the story because even though I'm the author, I tend to forget things as well. lol But I'm hoping to update soon. It's been too long.

Me too! lol

You offer me help and I may most likely take advantage of it sometime. So when it comes to making a new layout, I may be coming to you for advice. ;)

I am graduating this year. I'm in my 5th year, and I'll finally be done. You're way farther than me in figuring out what you want to do. lol I'm graduating, and I'm still not entirely sure. I've always leaned towards social work, so I'm looking into getting certified because I don't really want to go to grad school and get my MSW. Maybe sometime later though. Otherwise, I'm thinking family and sex therapy, but that will be later down the road since I need to get my masters for that, and that's not something I want to do right away. I need a break from school. lol

Are you graduating this year as well?

naw...i'm graduating next year... and I do want to work with children...but I know i have to continue my studies..and like you said...PLEASE! Break from school!..hahaha..
I also lean towards social intervention...it's cool...but I do NOT want to work in education.... or anything with organizational psychology.
i dunno about the psych terms you have in the states, but I study here in santiago, chile.
it's really cool "meeting" someone that studies the same thing as I but in another country =)

and don't worry about asking me for a new layout...even though I know crap about wordpress.. i do know how to make layouts..haha...

Yeah, I wouldn't mind working with children. I just don't think I want that to be my prime clientele. But I wouldn't mind doing some work with them. I most likely will anyway if I do go into social work. My ideal job with actually be working in rehab centers or being an interventionist and helping family and friends with performing an intervention for a loved one who is an addict of some sorts.

I thought for awhile I'd want to do school psychology, but I quickly changed my mind on that. lol

Oddly enough, even though psych seems to be a popular major, I don't meet many psych majors. So it is nice to meet and talk to others who are studying psych as well.

Are you originally from Chile? Or are you studying abroad?

Lol Any help you can offer me, I will take. :) Once I/you get a layout designed if I ever get there, I can handle getting it into wordpress. :)

wow....yeah..thanks... cause wordpress is a biatch!
hahaha...

yes, i'm originally from chile, even though I moved to sweden when i was 1½ years old...and now I'm back again =)

I don't see myself working with addiction.. I dunno, I love kids.. but it's a whole other story working with the parents, which i have to do if i plan on working with children.
today, i had my first experience with the mirrored room. gawwd, i was shocked by the things the mom said, but, it was a bigger shock to realize that it made it all so much real. no more problems "in theory"... these are real problems with real people. it was really cool seeing the teacher handling the interview though. like a pro! well, 15 years of experience in clinical psychology can do that to you..hahah..
i really like the social intervention you mentioned, but i see it like... integrating people from lower social status and stuff like that, since the difference of wealth is so big here in Chile...

Yeah, I wasn't too fond of wordpress when I first got my website. lol But it was just because I had no idea what I was doing. I still don't know everything about it and am still learning, but at least I'm not as clueless as I was when I first started.

Very cool! I've lived in the States my entire life. The only time I've ever been out of the country is when I visited a friend in Spain.

I never thought I'd really want to work with addiction, but I'm taking a class this semester called Addictive Behaviors, and I'm really liking it. I think it's something I could really see myself doing, especially being an interventionist or working in rehab.

I haven't done anything like you've done out in the field, but that makes sense since you're going into clinical psychology. I've done a few internships, but nothig with a mirrored room or of that sorts. That'd be kinda intimidating. lol But would be very cool to see. I love listening to my professors who have practiced clinical psych. They have some really good stories.

I've never really heard anything like that with social intervention, but that makes sense. I'm not sure if we have anything like that. I think it would just be nice to be involved in interventions and getting people to go to rehab of some sorts and get the help they need.
